What you need to know from MIT Media Lab’s Seymour Papert symposium

Keep thinking. Keep designing.

“You can’t think about thinking without thinking about thinking about something.” – Seymour Papert

In honor of Seymour Papert, a pioneer mathematician and thinker, MIT Media Lab ran a one-day symposium to showcase STEM/STEAM innovation and learning. We sent some of our littleBits team members to the event to report back on what they saw. They attended insightful panels on learning and education, and experienced innovate demos and discovered new ways to use tech.

Here’s what they came back to us with:

The biggest takeaway is all about LEGO! Check out LEGO meets Scratch meets Wood at the MIT Media Lab.

And check it out in action!

Plus, LEGO Mindstorms books will be digitized for free! How cool is that?

We think it’s wonderful that MIT Media Lab is honoring Seymour Papert’s legacy with a day devoted to mathematics, STEM/STEAM, and educational discovery. If you missed the livestream, check out the archived footage here.

Here at littleBits, we’re proud to be in the ranks of companies like LEGO to pioneer engineering, inventing, and creative confidence. We look forward to seeing more symposiums at MIT Media Lab to continue Mr. Papert’s legacy and spirit of innovation.
