This Week In Community: Projects, Radioshack, Web Summit, Lego and Moar!

News from the bit'osphere!

November 7, 2014
What a week in the bit’osphere! From launching littleBits in 1,500 Radioshack stores across the country, to a star-packed Lego contest, to once again seeing some incredible projects made by our community – here are our Friday Faves.

GAME ON

An instant hit for all HelloRun fans, this make is the perfect controller for playing games on your computer! Made by Matt Richardson this make uses the Arduino module and the Brick Adapter.

MORE GAMES (AND BUNNIES!)
Another game project that made it’s appearance this week on our project page is this musical timer made by JackANDJude AND their bunny!

SCENT-IMENTAL!

This Scent-imental Notification System by Paige Russell.

“I feel like the nose has been left out of this whole tech revolution and wanted to give it a way to get involved.” You really should just watch the video, the project is amazing!

SUNSHINE ALARM
For everyone who hates alarms (who really loves alarms?) this make is a perfect weekend project. To quote it’s creator  “Once upon a time, humans woke up with the sun. We should still do that, because it’s hard to get angry at sunshine.” Using the cloudBit, DC Motor, USB Power, Wire,  a smart phone, and some off-the-shelf building toys, you can wake up with a smile every day!

LEGOMANIA PART DEUX: #BITIFY YOUR CITY DESIGN CHALLENGE

We announced a very special design challenge this week; Inspired by the work of artist Christoph Niemann and his book I LEGO NYC we are asking you to make a creation inspired by your favorite city in the world using LEGO® + littleBits. Bonus points if you are using our new Brick Adapter.  The prize is a collection of some top secret littleBits stash and our judges include a few of our personal heroes in the LEGO-sphere like JK Brickworks, Kyle Li, BrickQueen, Yoshihito Isogawa and Philipp Verbeek.

RADIOSHACK <3

To celebrate littleBits being in over 1,500 store nationwide, Radio Shack asked their followers what they would do if they got their hands on some modules. The winner of the contest gets a cloudBit Starter Kit! Make sure you use #RSlittleBits.

ANOTHER EVENTFUL WEEK

Finally, earlier this week our CEO Ayah Bdeir gave took the stage at Web Summit in Dublin, Ireland and spoke about the Internet of Things. We got so many great tweets and pics from attendees:
