AIGA Workshop: Draws circles within circles and a random awkward blue mark all around.

Bits used: branch, dc motor , dimmer, power , vibration motor, wire

Difficulty: Intermediate

  1. 1

Build the circuit! Connect the Bits in the following order: Power + Branch + Slide Dimmer + DC Motor. From a free side of the Branch, attach a Wire + Vibration Motor.

  2. 2

Connect the circuit to a popsicle stick with the rubber bands.

  3. 3

Attach a plastic disk to the shaft of your DC Motor. See link below [d-shaft templates.pdf]

  4. 4

Set the whole circuit on top of a plastic cup and affix it with tape. The DC Motor and plastic disk should be hanging off the cup and facing downward.

  5. 5

Tape charcoals to the plastic disk. Make sure each charcoal is touching the drawing surface.

  6. 6

Attach another piece of charcoal to the vibration motor.

  7. 7

Make a cover for your robot, switch it on, and watch it mysteriously make marks.
