The littleBits Count

This is the littleBits version of the "Count" of Sesame Street fame.  This counter will let you count anything that you want to count!  You can count everything from sheep to cookies eaten by the infamous Cookie Monster.  The number modules update the count with each press of the "Count" button.  You can count up to 9999, and you can reset the count to zero with a simple press of the reset button.  Enjoy--and keep on counting!!!

Click the link to the jpg file below to see the complete circuit.  It shows the current count at 257.

How To Make It

Construct the circuit shown in the picture. Note that the Arduino module's micro-USB cable must be connected to your computer, and the computer must have the Arduino IDE software installed. The number modules should be set to "values" (not "volts"). THE ARDUINO SWITHCES SHOULD BOTH BE SET TO ANALOG. Power up the Arduino module. Start the Arduino IDE software. Select Tools>Board>Arduino Leonardo. Then select Tools>Serial Port and select the serial port that the Arduino will use for communication. This will depend upon whether you are using a Windows, Mac, or Linux machine. Open the sketch file called Counter.ino. Upload the sketch to the Arduino module. After it is loaded you will notice that both number modules read 00. You can then begin counting. Once you have loaded the Counter.ino program to the Arduino module, you can disconnect the circuit from your computer, and run the count program wherever you wish!
