The Dad Clock

by ispalt

Published on July 29, 2014

Inspired by the "Wesley Clock" in Harry Potter, "The Dad Clock" is a prototype display that shows my family where I am during the day.

Whether on my commute or at work, my kids at home have an ambient sense of my whereabouts.

The project makes use of the IFTTT mobile app to track my changes in location - exiting or leaving specific zones (geofences) sends a ping to the cloud module which moves the dc motor, updating the display at home.

Our whole family had a great time helping build this, especially illustrating the different locations and beta testing.

Note that this project is compatible with Moms as well!
