The Butterfly Effect as Applied to Table Tennis (#bitOlympics)

by Holly Arnason

Published on August 4, 2015

Can the flapping of a butterfly's wings cause a hurricane across the world? We don't know for sure about small changes caused by flapping wings in deterministic nonlinear systems, but they sure can increase the difficulty level for table tennis.

This #bitOlympics project uses the sound trigger to spin objects with the DC motor once a ping pong ball strikes the tabletop!

Duration: 60 minutes
