Planty, the Positive Reinforcement Plant #EarthDay

Get some sweet verbal gratitude from your plant when water it! By using the Makey Makey, you can trigger an mp3 player to make your plant talk.

How To Make It

STEP 1 : Record your plant noises

"Hey, thanks!", "Mmmm...water...", "That hit the spot!" What do you want your plant to tell you after you water it? Record a message or make a song and put it on your micro SD card, the insert the card into the mp3 player.

STEP 2 : Assemble Circuit

Snap together a power, Makey Makey, mp3 player & speaker. You could also have some synth sound (like a sequencer that plays as the water is falling) or even a motor that raises a message. Make sure the mp3 player & speaker are on the "right arrow" side as we are going to clip the alligator wire to that pad.

STEP 3 : Attach alligator clips

Alligator clip a wire to the right arrow pad of the Makey Makey. Attach another wire to one of the earth pad. Then place the ends of the two wires into the plant soil. Make sure to place it in an area away from the circuit so that you can water it without getting your Bits all soggy.

STEP 4 : Place circuit onto pot

Again, keep the Bits out of harms way. Nobody likes soggy Bits.

STEP 5 : Feed your plant!
