LittleBitty Ferris Wheel

by LittleBits @ Riverside Library

Published on May 25, 2016

Inspired by a drawing on Pinterest, the children created a LittleBits powered ferris wheel. It was especially important to them to hide the electronics behind a control panel, similar to what they had seen at the carnival. They youngest children designed the large craft sticks and the 8+ year-olds created the LittleBits circuit to power the finished project. It was a lot of fun, and because of the artistic component, the younger children were exposed to the LittleBits. A volunteer manned the glue gun. The children on the laptops are using Scratch programming to create a promotional video.

Duration: 2 Meetings of 2 hours

How To Make It

Create the inner wheels first, leaving room for a skewer to fit through. Then create the frame. We used a hot glue gun to join the craft sticks
