Students created a maze for a laser light. To reach the end of the path, the light had to be reflected and refracted. At the opposite end of the maze, the students placed the light sensor connected to the buzzer. When the light path is interupted (say, by an intruder), the buzzer is triggered. The next part of the challenge was to create a tower and a cage that traps the intruder. The cage is dropped around the intruder when the sound sensor is triggered, thus causing the wheel to spin and the rope to drop.
