Drum and Bass Bling

May 10, 2013
No more dancing in the dark! Light it up with the Drum and Bass Bling necklace. We're positive this will be the glowing hit of your next dance party. The Drum and Bass Bling necklace is a project from our San Francisco series, which features projects that are inspired by the vibrant spirit of the city.

How To Make It

STEP 1

Take a power module and connect the battery cable and 9V battery to it. Be sure that the teeny on/off switch on the power module is switched to "on". Next, assemble the circuit: power + light wire + wire + pulse + bright led + inverter + bright led.

STEP 2

Bend the light wire into a necklace shape. We made ours with three circles. We also bent the light wire to make a hook and eye shaped closure (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hook-and-eye_closure).

STEP 3

Use colored duct tape to secure the light wire in place and add some flair to your necklace.

STEP 4

Place the pulse + bright led + inverter + bright led on the front of the necklace. We used a needle and thread to sew the bits to one of the duct tape pieces.

STEP 5

Make a small cardboard box to hide the battery and power Bit in. We covered our box in duct tape and placed it on the backside of the necklace.

STEP 6

Power up that necklace and get ready to rave!
