Bunny Hop

by JackANDJude

Published on May 3, 2015

Whenever there is a loud noise, Cadburry dances to the "Bunny Hop" song.  This "Make it Dance!" circuit uses the sound trigger, mp3 player, and DC motor.

Invent your own dancing animal for the Animatronics Challenge.

How To Make It

STEP 1 : Build mechanism with Legos

This project started as an exploration of the scotch yoke mechanism.  The lego scotch yoke mechanism converts the rotational motion of the DC motor into linear (up and down) motion.  I wanted to see what I could do with it, and I decided a peek-a-boo toy would be fun. :)

STEP 2 : Glue mechanism to box

I hot glued the Lego scotch yoke mechanism to the inside of a medium cardboard box. A mild amount of hot glue can be removed from Legos after disassembly.

STEP 3 : Cardstock bunny and grass

I drew Cadburry bunny and grass with a pencil and crayons on cardstock and then cut out the shapes.

STEP 4 : Assemble circuit

The circuit is USB power + sound trigger + split.... ... + mp3 player (next) + speaker ... + DC motor
