#BitOlympics Ice Hockey Scoring Alert

by CB

Published on July 21, 2015

Never miss another goal by your favorite team or home country with our little bit scoring alert.  While those lucky fans in the arena can revel with the red light and horn, many fans miss out on the fun.  Not anymore - receive automatic text alerts every time the puck hits the back of the net.  Fans everywhere can stay on top of the action.  #BitOlympics

How To Make It

1

Build a hockey arena (in our case a Lego model after the PPL Center in Allentown, PA)

Way too many Legos.

2

With a couple of helpers set up the little bit circuit - power, motion detector, splitter, long led & buzzer on one path and cloud bit on the other.

3

Setup the motion detector in the back of the goal to trigger when a score is recorded.  Wire the red light with the long LED and setup the buzzer.

4

Setup an IFTTT recipe to send a text when input received from cloud bit

5

Leave the kids alone in the room with the project for a few minutes. Hear constant buzzing and come back to dozens of texts.
