Our team had an incredible weekend at the World Maker Faire. The event brought together some of our favorite makers and companies. We had such a good time showing off our new Exploration Series Kits and hosting workshops at our booth, thank you to everyone who came out! Here are a few of the highlights from the weekend:
On Saturday, our Founder and CEO Ayah Bdeir gave a presentation titled “Children are Teaching Adults to Make Again.” She discussed the observations she has made during her time at littleBits and how adults can learn from children’s fearlessness and desire to explore uncharted territory. MAKE blog did an excellent write-up of the speech, which can be read here.
Ayah also announced the Global Makeathon Winners during her speech. The first place winner was Rolling Robots and, amazingly enough, Bing Jiang, the founder of Rolling Robots and her son Josef who contributed to the winning project were present. Josef got to join Ayah on stage and accept his award!
We held product demos and workshops at our booth. We shared the new Exploration Series Kits with guests and allowed them to have a sneak peak at some of the Bits coming out later this month.
Our “Make a Costume” workshop was very popular. We invited participants to combine littleBits with craft material to design their own costumes and props.
Want to “Make a Costume” of your own? Check out the latest projects from Team littleBits and learn how to make a pair of light-up wings, an animatronic parrot, a space explorer helmet, super hero wrist cuffs, a magic wand, and more.
