Alternate Sequencing Concepts: Transposition Experiments

by pspeer

Published on January 30, 2015

This lesson focuses on experimenting with melodic sequencing within the littleBits environment without necessarily relying on the Micro Sequencer to create patterns! Instead of focusing on that bit’s 4-step loop, the patches in this lesson employ scaled clock division as a voltage source, combining several concepts of control and interactivity.

Duration: 1 hour

Lesson Guide

STEP 1 : Introduction

The Blacet Binary Zone, a synthesizer module comprised of a clock divider and a mixer, is described and introduced as the conceptual underpinning for the thoughts and techniques included in this Lesson.

STEP 2 : Patches

Alternate sequencing concept binary zone 2

Five individual patches are described, each building on the lessons of the one before it. The patches present alternate methods of creating melodic sequences within the littleBits environment and lay the foundation for further experimentation!
