Anahit and her sister Astghik have been creating some really innovative projects, including BatVision, which was chosen as one of the winners for the Invent for Good Challenge. We interviewed Anahit to learn more about their process.

 

Where are you based?
San Jose, California

 

How would you describe yourself in six words or less?
Curious, creative, tech lover

 

What was your littleBits “a-ha!” moment? The moment you were bitten by the littleBits bug.
It happened when I opened my Christmas gift and found the littleBits Arduino Coding Kit in it. It was really cool seeing the code in action and being able to assemble electrical circuits with various sensors and devices. This was one of the first projects I made.
 

 
When starting a littleBits project, what does your design and video process look like?
It starts with a big discussion and drawings followed by series of experiments. When the project is fully assembled, we start testing and improving it. Designing and packaging is the fun part when my sister, Astghik, comes to help. And of course, the video is the craziest part – lots of mistakes, re-recording and computer work.
 

 

How has littleBits impacted you creatively?
It definitely helps to become more creative – larger the variety of building blocks, the bigger and more interesting the projects will be.

 

What do you plan on inventing next?
It will be something based on lasers. I have recently discovered lasers for myself and I am very excited about it.
