Invent * Create* Explore
Calling all Young Inventors…
Join us for a fun afternoon in our new makerspace!
Kids will use innovative gadgets, gizmos, artistic and technological mediums, recycled materials, & more to bring the creations of their imaginations to life!
In a time when education has been reduced to standardized rote instruction, give your child an opportunity for hands on multi-sensory experiences to encourage exploration, imagination, invention, and creativity. Through science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM), your child will learn to think and solve problems independently, develop frustration tolerance, cultivate inner resiliency, and persevere. Kids will learn in a safe place in which curiosity is encouraged and the seeds for growth and leadership are sown! Children ages 6-13 welcome!

TAKE THE CHALLENGE
Illuminate your world!
In this dynamic workshop, your young inventor will learn to harness the all-powerful LED to build his/her own glowing invention.
Using a variety of recycled and repurposed materials, kids ages 8-12 can create such inventions as:
a secret flashlight for late-night reading
a hat that lights the way on your next adventure
a lantern to decorate a party
a machine that makes light dance
a bioluminescent animal
any invention of their imagination!
Young inventors will be mentored through an evidenced -based method for designing and building that encourages them to think, problem solve, collaborate, reflect, and share their ideas. In the process, your young inventor will learn important life skills that will encourage them to SOAR in life!
At the end of the workshop, inventors will have the opportunity to submit their creations to a design challenge contest!
Workshop is co-facilitated by Dominick Vanacore, Senior Electrical Engineer and director of STEAM programs; and Dr. Kristy Vanacore, Child Psychologist and Empowerment Coach
