Community News: The Magic of Invention challenge closed with the most inventions EVER!

Catch up Mondays to find a timely collection of inventions from Bitsters like you. This week’s edition features a NEW Harry Potter-inspired Monster Book of Monsters, Luna Lovegood Spectrespecs and animatronic creatures.

littleBits Book of Monsters:  Graciela built her roaming Book of Monsters from a cardboard box, fake fur, polymer clay, marbles, and the littleBits Gizmos & Gadgets Kit, 2nd Edition. She connects her invention to Drive Mode using the Bluetooth Low Energy Bit Controls on a smartphone. New & Magical Inventions

At closing time, a whopping 147 inventions were submitted to the Magic of Invention challenge.  As the judges deliberate, let’s take a moment to give hearts to the competition.  Check out these recent entries.

Luna Lovegood Spectrespecs by Diana Tadeo, a member of the TicTec Chapter in Puebla, Mexico. Says Diana, “If you want to look like a crazy owl and see a world full of magical creatures, you should wear these funky glasses.”

Owl by Mrs. Cantu’s students of Delton-Kellogg Middle School, Michigan. Owl is an animatronic version of Harry Potter’s companion, Hedwig. Her eyes light up with LEDs and two fans make her wings spin.

Nagini, by Vedant of Danvers, MA. Vedant controls this animatronic snake with the Makey-Makey Bit and wireless Bits, as well as with the cloudBit by SMS texts.
