Bring your body’s electricity to life! Control your littleBits modules with your muscles! Make a musical instrument that reacts to your movements or do experiments to learn more about neuroscience!

The EMG SpikerBox module detects the electrical activity of human muscles non-invasively using simple skin surface electrodes. You can record EMGs from large muscles, or individual motor action potentials (or “spikes”) from smaller ones!

I would like to see a multichannel device to play more sounds simultaneously.

    • BackyardBrains over 3 years ago

You can do multi-channel sounds... you can hook up as many muscles bits as you wish. The instrumentation amps are single channel, so it made sense to keep the bit small, and keep the design to one. We used multiple EMG bits in many of the projects in the video.

Only 8 days left and just 150 votes to go! Everyone, make sure to share the EMG SpikerBox across all of your social networks so that Backyard Brains can make it to the next phase! The social sharing buttons are just below the Vote button.

If I can have one in my mailbox by the 22 of January I will pay you everything I own. This would be perfect for a school project Im doing! If you make an EEG sensor I will marry you.
